Balcony/Terrace, Seating Area in Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko
Wonderful oversized rooms with 2 twin sized, in reality they were standard sized, beds. Larger balcony with an unobstructed view off Mt Fuji. Breakfast was the same everyday with buffet style Japanese standard fare. The onsens were all included with bathing materials including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hair dryers. The small store in the main lobby stocked cookies, candies, trinkets and ramen. Restaurants are within 15 minutes of the hotel. The hotel does have a Japanese style restaurant with a fixed menu for 7700 yen per person. We walked to a pancake place about 10 minutes away. It was fantastic. There's a shopping center across the street and a grocery store although we didn't go. The hotel provided a shuttle to and from the main train station every hour on the hour beginning at 9 and ending at 4. At the train station you can purchase tickets for the buses to Mt Fuji 5th station, the Ropeway and other tourist attractions. Most staff do not speak English so translator is essential. The staff is friendly but doesn't offer to help even when they observe guests needing it. Example, elder couple struggling with luggage. Other hotels we stayed in throughout Japan water over the top in being helpful, making suggestions for places to eat or shop.

Very well-located, close to many sights and attractions and plenty of parking available. The highlight was the spectacular view facing Mt. Fuji - I was greeted by the majestic Fujisan every morning, and it was a truly beautiful sight to behold. Another highlight was the dinners - gorgeous kaiseki cuisine every night, showcasing the chefs' skill and techniques, as well as the beauty of the seasonal ingredients. Though the hotel is a bit older, it's still cosy and comfortable - and most importantly, spacious. And, while I drove to and around Kawaguchiko, the on-demand shuttle service the hotel offers is a wonderful amenity. A good place to stay makes a big difference in a trip, and my stay at the Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko left me hoping to make a return one day.

The most incredible view looking directly at Mount Fuji in all its glory, hotel room was large and comfortable and ideal for a family (we are 3 but 4 would have been fine too) set out like a small apartment with good balcony...hotel was walking distance from convenience stores and a small shopping mall and a short taxi ride to station or lake in opposite direction - we actually walked back from the lake as weather was so nice its a long walk but easy and pleasant to do if you have time and enjoy the exercise. Nice little gift shop in foyer, we didn't eat at the hotel so no idea what the food is like. Courtesy bus took us back to station end of our stay, which was so helpful.

Natalie

It was our second stay at the hotel. We chose it again as it has a splendid view of Mount Fuji, and its rooms are spacious and can accommodate easily a group of three-four people. The hotel has its own onsen, its facilities are clean. This time around, we especially appreciated kaiseki dinner served by the hotel restaurant - Jukai. The meals were delicious and different every day. They were a mix of Japanese and Western cuisine. The staff were also welcoming and friendly.

Room was spacious. We woke up to a beautiful view of Mt Fuji from our room balcony. Hotel is a distance from Kawaguchi Station but hotel provides free shuttle services which makes up for the inconvenience. There's also a mall with a supermarket about 15 mins walk from the hotel. We has dinner at hotel for both nights of our stay and they were very good. Thumbs up to the chef.
